Excellence in Training – I find it interesting.

I find it interesting when trainers complain about officers always being on their phones in class checking e-mail and texting and how disrespectful that is, and then those same trainers are on their phones when they are a student in someone else’s class. Some of them do not allow recruits to have phones in class because they need to “teach them how to be respectful when they are students”. Yet, it is ok for them to disrespect a fellow trainer when they are a student.

I find it interesting when trainers complain about officers coming in late to class, or coming back late from lunch or other breaks. Some recruit trainers would even punish recruits who are late, yet it is somehow acceptable for them to come back late from lunch and from breaks.

I find it interesting that trainers get upset with people having side conversations while they are teaching but, when they are in the back of the room auditing another trainers class or are a student in class feel it is perfectly acceptable for them to have side conversations for some reason.

I find it interesting that trainers have one set of standards for students in their class and another set of standards for themselves when they are a student. I find it interesting that some of those same trainers complain about how frustrating it is when their bosses have a double standard.

I find it interesting, and I find it disturbing.

Take care.
