“The best way to inspire people to superior performance is to convince them by everything you do and by your everyday attitude that you are wholeheartedly supporting them.”
Harold Geneen
How convincing are you?
Do the officers who attend your training (recruits and in-service) believe that you wholeheartedly support them?
Do they see it in your actions and hear it in your words?
Does the way you solicit questions and more importantly the manner in which you respond to questions convince them that value their input?
Is it clear to your officers that they are the heroes of your training and that your job is to be the wise and humble mentor?
Do they believe that you expect them to succeed and achieve superior performance and that you will do everything you can to facilitate that?
Do you model the commitment to training and commitment to excellence that you expect and demand from your officers?
Accept the challenge: be convincing.
Take care.
