“School is never out for the professional.”
Cavett Roberts
I see this quote from Cavett Roberts (the founder of the National Speakers Association) as more of a challenge than a statement. We could expand Cavett Roberts’ quote to “School is never out for the professional law enforcement trainer.”
Do you consider yourself a professional? What are you doing to continually school yourself?
Imagine a new trainer approaches you and tells you he or she is passionate about training and wants to be the best trainer possible. He or she then asks you for advice on one course they should take, one conference they should attend and one book they should read. What would your answer be? I would like you to take time to reflect on these questions and e-mail your thoughts to me at winningmind@mac.com. I will share the responses in future blogs.
What one course would you recommend?
What one conference would you recommend?
What one book would you recommend.
I am not looking for a list. I would like you to reflect and recommend just one of each.
I look forward to reading and sharing your thoughts.
Take care.
