Minimum standards is a starting point, not a goal. Seek to instill a sense of competence and confidence in your officers. Seek excellence. Seek mastery.
Minimum number of hours is a starting point. Seek more time. If you cannot get more time, then make better use of the time you have. Someone else may dictate that you can only have the minimum number of required hours for training. Seek to accomplish the maximum amount of learning in that time.
If you are bragging because you meet the minimum requirements in all areas, stop bragging. Set the bar higher and seek to do more with the resources you have. Find ways to increase the competence and confidence of your officers.
Seek excellence. Do not accept, or embrace mediocrity.
Seek more rather than settling for less. More time, more purpose, more focus, more passion, and more learning. More from your officers and more from yourself.
Take care.
