“Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.”
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
When you think of the great trainers you have come across in your career you likely think about the vast amount of knowledge they had in the subjects they taught and the imagination they displayed in how they delivered the material and engaged the participants in their classes.
The piece we too often overlook is Love.
Great trainers love what they do.
They love teaching, training, coaching and mentoring.
They love their work.
They love to learn and grow.
They love the people they have the privilege and honour to teach.
Without that love you will not be willing to put in the time and work day after day for years to stay engaged in the pursuit of excellence in your craft. Without that love you will struggle to show up and give your best every day. Without that love you will let the skeptics, cynics, malcontents and disruptors, the energy vampires, suck the life out of you.
Feel the love. Fuel the love. Embrace the love. It is the soul of your genius.
This week I am at the annual ILEETA Conference and Expo and am surrounded by genius and love for teaching, training and learning. If you are also here, say hello. If you are not here make it your mission to attend next year.
Take care.
