I would challenge you to make the time to reflect on and answer the following four questions, which I borrowed from Joe Ehrmann and his book InsideOut Coaching. The key is to answer them honestly and not simply with a glib, pat or politically correct answer.
- Why do you coach / train / teach?
- Why do you coach / train / teach the way that you do?
- How do you measure success as a coach / trainer / teacher?
- What is it like to be coached / trained / taught by you?
Consider sharing these questions with your fellow trainers and challenge them to reflect on and answer the questions as well. Then sit down and discuss your answers.
Take care.
